About Collegiate

Wichita Collegiate School is a coeducational, college preparatory, independent day school for students in early childhood, from 2-year-olds through grade 12. Located in East Wichita on a 42-acre campus, Wichita Collegiate is home to 968 students across four divisions: Early Childhood, Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.

Founded in 1963, Wichita Collegiate School has shaped our students into inquisitive thinkers and compassionate citizens prepared to impact the world positively. Job  Description

The Upper School Economics teacher will teach a combination of five sections, including the following semester-long classes: general economics, personal finance, and entrepreneurship. The Economics teacher will prepare and deliver engaging learning experiences consistent with the scope and sequence outlined by WCS, and spark curiosity in our students. In addition to teaching economics and business classes, our new teacher will lead a student advising group. 

Our teachers place students at the center of all teaching and learning to ensure the best educational experience for each student. They are willing to support WCS beyond the classroom with time and talents to expand the student experience beyond the classroom. Their curiosity for learning drives a commitment to professional growth, and they actively participate in school-lead professional development activities (including faculty meetings). Collegiate educators share a commitment to doing whatever tasks necessary to enhance the student experience.         

Our social studies teachers come from varied backgrounds but share a sense of responsibility for delivering high-quality instruction to students. This position requires a bachelor's degree in education, economics, business, or a discipline related to social studies. Three years of classroom experience is preferred; advanced education or relevant professional experience may be substituted for the classroom experience.

Work Environment: Collegiate Educators are expected to be on campus from August 1 through May 31. During the school year, school hours of operation are 7:30 from 4:30 pm; the classroom schedule varies by department. Faculty members are expected to participate in school activities to foster our sense of community.
