Hill School is seeking a lead Art teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Hill is a JK-8 independent school of 250 children in Middleburg, VA. The school is situated on a 140 acre campus with a central art building and an abundance of beautiful outdoor space.
Hill is committed to a strong co-curricular program in which all students study and create art alongside their other subjects, because we believe that art is essential to children’s healthy growth and development. Art lessons frequently complement topics covered in history, science, writing, and math courses, so collaboration with colleagues is essential.
The successful candidate will teach 4th-8th grade art classes and take on other responsibilities based on the school’s needs and the teacher’s individual interests. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of art history, studio experience in a variety of artistic media, a strong philosophical commitment to the importance of both appreciating and creating art, a willingness to work as part of a close faculty team and, most importantly, a passion for working with children. Candidates should contact Christie Lovelette at firstname.lastname@example.org or Hunt Lyman at email@example.com
