The Clariden School currently seeks an experienced educator to serve as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator and Middle / Upper School Lead Educator. Clariden recently became an IB Diploma Programme (DP) candidate* school. As we continue to pursue authorization, we are looking for an educator who has experience teaching within the IB DP to continue to support the professional development of the Upper School educators who will teach in the DP, as well as partner with families on preparing for the transition to the IB DP. This role also offers a further leadership opportunity to lead the Middle / Upper School faculty to continue to build policies and procedures, enhance the student and faculty experience, and partner with parents as we continue to grow the student body in the upper grade levels. The ideal candidate will maintain a presence in the classroom teaching Chemistry and/or Spanish.
The ideal candidate for this unique position will have
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the subject area for which they teach and/or in education, Master’s degree or higher preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (a portion of which has been teaching coursework within one of the IB Programmes)
- A minimum of two years working in an academic leadership role within a school or similar environment (team leader and/or department chair position or higher administrative responsibilities)
- A strong desire for professional development and a demonstrated growth mindset
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; High level of professionalism
- A sense of humor
- A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and school leadership
- An understanding of small-by-design schools
