McGlannan School, a highly specialized school for students diagnosed with dyslexia and related language and learning difficulties, seeks applicants for the full-time position of Division Director of the Middle School.
Responsibilities
Guide and monitor students’ academic progress
Academic placement of students within the division
Management of curriculum and instruction to meet student needs
Diagnostic test interpretation and implementation
Facilitate standardized test administration and utilization
Advise and manage students’ discipline within the division
Provide guidelines and expectations for teachers and reading clinicians
Conduct teacher evaluations
Maintain an open line of communication with parents
Serve as a liaison between the school, parents and community professionals
Prepare and conduct parent conferences
Document all calls, conferences and meetings with parents and outside professionals
Prepare reports for health and educational professionals
As applicable, placement of transferring students into the mainstream
Participate in the enrollment committee
Requirements
Kind and compassionate professional with understanding of adolescent development and behavior management strategies
Master’s Degree or higher preferred
Previous experience as a professional educator in middle school grades
ESE experience
Previous experience in educational administration or counseling
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Collaborative approach with fellow personnel
