SCOPE OF AUTHORITY: Supervises all Middle School staff and faculty and events. 
 
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred in School Administration.  School Administrator certification: must be willing to seek Association of Christian Schools International.
Skills: Broad understanding of educational quality, grades 6 through 8, and be able to evaluate the effectiveness of all CCS programs in this light.  He/she shall promote a biblical world and life view.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years middle school teaching experience required. Minimum of 5 years administrative experience preferred. 
Mental Requirements: Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision.  Must be able to work as part of a team, accept responsibility and be self-motivated.  Must demonstrate a strong work ethic to achieve school goals.  Must display effective multi-tasking and time management abilities.  
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Promote the Christian Biblical culture in accordance with the Carmel Statement of Faith to those individuals in contact with the school, including students, their families, faculty & staff members, visitors, and those making inquiries about Carmel Christian School.
  • Observes and evaluates all Middle School teachers.
  • Works with Middle School faculty to create workable schedules for students.
  • Collaborate with Upper School administration and Middle School faculty in creating a master schedule to provide a challenging array of core academic and elective subjects.
  • Conducts weekly meetings for all Middle School staff.
  • Provides assistance to Middle School teachers in the area of student discipline.
  • Communicates with parents on Middle School issues.
  • Establishes and organizes schedules for devotions, carline, staff meetings, lunches, pictures, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, teachers, community and peers.
  • Creates and maintains a website that features daily STEM labs for students and parents.
  • Works with teachers to obtain and maintain licensure through a recognized educational or religious organization.
  • Provides professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to enhance their teaching skills.
  • Assists in the admission process as related to student evaluations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
