Davidson Day School is a diverse independent school that fosters academic excellence through collaboration, creativity, and character development. Each student is offered an active, challenging learning environment through our broad array of programs. We are seeking a full-time Curriculum Coordinator to join our staff starting July 1, 2023. The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, review, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum and assessments. The Curriculum Coordinator ensures that the curriculum is aligned with the school’s mission, vision, and values to yield the highest standards of student achievement and academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Review the assessment of curricular standards, including scope and sequence, from age 2 through grade 12
Collaborate with faculty and division heads to develop a uniform, documented, and detailed curriculum
Oversee and make recommendations to the division heads regarding improvements or other updates relating to curriculum
Research trends in instructional methods and educational technology
Assist faculty in matching appropriate assessment instruments to curriculum objectives
Track student progress and learning outcomes with data, including applicable criteria and benchmarks
Work with division heads to plan and conduct training, conferences, and workshops for professional development
Collaborate with school’s Chief Financial Officer to prepare a long-term budget for the school’s curriculum and professional development
Oversee standardized testing and analyze related data for Lower School and Middle School students
Partner with department chairs and Upper School testing coordinator to track Upper School student testing data
Qualifications
Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, educational policy, curriculum design and development, or related field required
Minimum of 5 years of teaching and administrative experience
Curriculum instructional specialist licensure is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills (Blackbaud, Google, etc.)
Demonstrates leadership and facilitative skills in a diverse community
Flexible and able to make decisions in a timely manner
