Francis Parker School of Louisville, a coed, secular, independent school founded in the Progressive tradition and committed to equity and justice, seeks experienced, dynamic applicants for Athletic Director overseeing Lower, Middle, and High School. The School operates across two campuses -- Goshen (Preschool-8th) and Downtown (High School) -- and this role shares time between both. Our mascot is the Wyvern. Athletic teams begin in JK and continue through High School Varsity; sports at various levels include soccer, field hockey, volleyball, cross country, basketball, bowling, baseball, tennis, and track and field.
The School employs a no-cut policy in middle and high school athletics, enabling talented athletes to play a starring role from a young age and allowing novice athletes to discover a love of athletics and develop their abilities. The Athletic Department philosophy can be summed up in the ” Wyvern Way”:
- We are committed and accountable – we show up.
- We are team first.
- We give our best effort and energy.
- We work hard to get better.
- We compete.
- We are inclusive and have each others’ backs.
- We exhibit the best sportsmanship.
- We have fun.
We are looking for a change-maker; someone who has the vision to take a strong but small program to the next level.
Applicants should have at least 5-10 years of experience in athletic administration; a BA or MA in a related field; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; the ability to build relationships both with school constituents and in the broader community; and a commitment to developing and practicing cultural competence
