Hilton Head Prep is seeking a Director of Athletics to begin July 1, 2023. The Director of Athletics will oversee all aspects of a robust athletic program with diverse offerings. This person will report to the Head of School and serve as part of the leadership team, working closely with the Upper School Head, Facilities Director and all members of the athletic staff including coaches, Assistant Athletic Director and Middle School Athletic Director.

 

Hilton Head Prep has a proud tradition in athletics and the new Director of Athletics will be charged with enhancing that tradition and creating continuity across all sports. As a leader, this person will be responsible for assessing the structure of the department, determining needs and attracting excellent coaching. Within the context of a community that values each individual student, the Director of Athletics will be responsible for ensuring that there are opportunities for all students to engage in the program.  Hilton Head Prep’s program offers a variety of programs ranging from multi level, high participation, team sports to smaller groups of individual athletes. We have on campus team sports as well as high level off campus sports, including outstanding golf, tennis and sailing programs. The school will provide excellence in each area and ensure that a cohesive department provides the very best to each student athlete.

 

Competitive candidates will have demonstrated experience in athletic administration and school leadership.  The Director must be able to manage numerous coaches and programs while providing a unifying vision for excellence across sports and levels.
