St. Anne's-Belfield School seeks a full-time science teacher and Grades 9-12 Science Department Chair. Responsibilities include teaching upper school science, advising a group of 10-12 students, and leading the Science Department Grades 9-12.

This role relies on someone who collaborates effectively with members of the Upper School Science Department and the Upper School Faculty as a whole. A department chair is a visionary leader skilled in articulating the key skills and essential knowledge of the academic discipline within the departmental philosophy and the core values of the School and providing support and targeted feedback to teachers.

A successful teacher in this position has the capacity to develop curriculum, partner with colleagues, and make learning hands-on and experiential. Full-time classroom teaching experience, both online and in-person, strong organizational and classroom management skills, and the ability to joyfully teach upper school children are required. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching high school-aged students in a standards-based learning environment (SBL) and hold a master's degree in science and/or curriculum and instruction.

As an independent school, we value community involvement and expect that the selected candidate will serve as a coach, and/or lead extracurricular programming beyond the classroom.
