Hilton Head Prep is seeking a dynamic, student-centered leader to serve as the Director of College Counseling beginning in the summer of 2023. Strong candidates will have independent school experience and an understanding of the critical role that college counseling plays in the culture of excellent schools. The new Director of College Counseling will report to the Head of School and will be a visible and critical member of the Upper School team, supporting curricular decisions and providing input to programming and strategic planning. Hilton Head Prep has a strong athletic program and experience guiding student athletes through the NCAA recruiting process will be valued in the search.
Involvement and engagement in regional and national college admissions associations is an expectation of this position. Our Director will serve as a key outward facing ambassador for the school and will have opportunities to report to the Board of Trustees as well as provide education to the community regarding trends in college admissions. Professional development and engagement will be strongly supported.
Hilton Head Prep is a leading independent JK-12 grade school that enrolls approximately 450 students. The School is located in the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, nestled between the Atlantic ocean to the East and the Sea Pines Forest Preserve to the West. The community is thriving and enrollment has flourished in recent years as people have migrated to the area to enjoy the idyllic environment and quality of life. A new Head of School began in July of 2022 and the coming years will include a new strategic plan and campus master plan, setting the stage for an exciting time of programmatic enhancement and campus improvement. Further developing and advancing a national class college counseling program will be critical to the strategic vision and future of the school.
