There is no membership fee or cost to register for candidates. Likewise, there’s no charge for active candidates to attend one of our terrific job fairs. You’ll receive access to the thousands of jobs listed with us each year, as well as the assistance of a dedicated placement counselor who helps you discern which of these opportunities are suitable for you. All for free.
We’re able to offer candidates a free service because schools pay for our work. Independent schools around the South trust us to help them find the best possible teachers and leaders for their institutions. School administrators have no higher duty than finding great teachers for their students; they value our assistance with this challenge; and they are quite ready to pay placement fees for talent.
A school’s business arrangement with Southern Teachers is simple: if a school hires a candidate we refer, a placement fee is due. The placement fee is 11% of the new staff member’s first-year remuneration (12% if the school provides housing).

Our 12th Annual Student Art Contest will begin accepting submissions on November 1. Students at member school in grades 8-12 are eligible to participate. One art teacher from each member school should register to coordinate submissions.
