Whence Cometh the Candidates?
The schools we serve are in the South. The candidates we serve are from . . . everywhere!
One obvious pool of candidates is new college graduates, and we conduct robust, multi-faceted college-recruiting campaigns at hundreds of colleges to identify and recruit new talent.
To connect with experienced faculty candidates, we conduct extensive online marketing and we enjoy networking at state and regional independent school conferences. In addition, we’re delighted to ship our beautiful calendar each year—with artwork submitted by students from many of our member schools—to thousands of school faculty lounges. We’re a well-established presence in the independent school world.
To find and serve teachers returning from jobs at overseas schools we continue advertising extensively, as we have for over 30 years.
Candidates come to us from around the world—to find exciting new opportunities in the South!
Candidate Referrals
Our most important and challenging task is prescreening individual candidates for specific positions at each school. We receive requests for thousands of jobs annually. We give each one our full attention. Our goal—in which we take great pride and personal satisfaction—is to refer only qualified, viable candidates who have much to offer the school community.
To accomplish this daunting task, we interview every single candidate and check their references. In addition, all of our foreign language candidates must undergo a full assessment of their speaking and comprehension skills. We get to know our candidates—their capabilities and gifts as well as their career goals and preferences. We learn what they can do and what they want to do.
For each specific job listing, we select only those candidates who have a real potential for success. Those are the ones whose files we make available for school leaders’ review via their online STAR (Southern Teachers Agency Recruiting) accounts. School leaders can’t afford time to wade through stacks of resumes and applications from candidates who simply do not have the credentials or qualities the school seeks. Our referrals are the best in the business. They help leaders focus on finding the best faculty fits for their school families.
